In partnership with the B.C. Ferry and Marine Workers’ Union, The Bayanihan Community Centre is gearing up for its biggest effort yet to raise more funds for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

So far the Bayanihan has raised more than $40,000 to date and they need to get as much raised before the deadline for matching grants from the federal and British Columbia governments.  All funds raised are going to the Canadian Red Cross.

Please come out and support the cause this Saturday, December 7.  I will be reading a poem, Prayer After Yolanda by Meyen Quigley as part of the evening’s entertainment.
